The Photographer Knights according to Peggy CALVEZ-ALLAIRE
Love is the first word that comes to mind to bring together the eccentric photographs of the duo Chevaliers Photographes.
One and its many.
A photographer and their model, then two, then… complicity, desire, fantasy, or transgression occupy the images, either individually or together. Focusing on this last element seems useful for understanding the extensive body of work of the Chevaliers Photographes, because transgression has many faces. It shocks an individual, a group, a country, and if the objective is negative, it will stun individuals, thus preventing any reflection.
If the objective is positive, it will instead force us to reflect in order to understand our own reaction or to desire to understand the author of the transgression.
In the serious case of the Photographer Knights, she wants to impose the most complete vision possible of Love in freedom, between consenting adults.
They play with titles, they play with symbols, a game that aims to be festive, militant, and in which each piece of the puzzle adds to the other rather than fitting together.
Each series is a path to be explored. The presence of the body is, for the moment, the only echo from one to the next, the central piece of the kaleidoscope, the pillar of their visual world, essential given the sheer volume of their work. The photographic medium seems to have been created for them, so numerous are its technical possibilities. It offers as many paths as the Knights might wish to follow.
They eagerly and cheekily seize upon each new opportunity to unleash their creativity, taking advantage of the concentration required to handle the camera to experiment repeatedly. Then comes the perfect moment, the moment when THE photograph erases all previous ones and time itself, the one that Henri Cartier-Bresson called "the decisive moment".
The Photographer Knights by Laure from Sismique & Sensuelle
I met the Chevaliers Photographes at the Petit Salon érotique Sismique et Sensuelle in Paris.
They were introduced to me by Yann Calvez, co-founder of the Emois photographique Festival in Angoulême.
I first saw a smile, a happy energy and a lot of love between these two knights.
They set out to conquer a precious freedom, a grail fashioned from eroticism and artistic passion.
They lead an adventurous life that draws many followers in their wake, under the banners of shared love.
I invite you to join their crusade in the rolling lands of masculine and feminine curves.
