Portrait noir et blanc de l'artiste Angélique Bon

Angélique bon

Born in 1980 in Grenoble and living in Villard-de-Lans in Vercors [FR], Angélique began her apprenticeship in visual arts as a self-taught artist.

She has built her artistic identity work after work, using her brushes and pencils instinctively experimenting with techniques and mixtures of colours.

In 2017, Angélique painted her first painting The Diamond.

Her art is a direct and visceral expression of her nature as a discreet and wild woman.

Angélique is inspired by the Masters of Art Nouveau, notably Mucha and Klimt. Comics and Yoshitaka Amano and Olga Zielinska are also among his influences.

She pursued her career as a painter professionally with conviction and determination. She uses acrylic paint and different materials such as fabric collages on canvas.

Her works open onto a dreamlike, wildly feminine World, expressing bluntly her passions and torments.

In the mirror, I look at myself. I expose myself. Like a mirror, my painting expresses and reveals me. Like a reflection, the woman that I am is revealed, or rather the feminine that I carry and the one that crosses us all, in its multiple mythological, imaginary and symbolic variations.

Muse and poet, witch and mother, mermaid and queen, loved and loving woman, desiring and desired, powerful and fragile, delighted and ravishing. Will you go beyond the mirror?

I crossed paths with Angélique in 2021. Her attitude, her red hair and her shy and wild air took me along to discover his works. Like her, her paintings and photos are magnetic, imbued with an elliptical poetry and a fragile and strong femininity. Painting to survive. Capturing the essence of bodies and souls in her lens, she captures the elusive. Angélique is very modest and doesn't talk much. It leaves the viewer free to find their truth. I invite you to discover its mystery. I haven't gotten there yet.
